Abstract:
A method for preparing nano-twinned crystal pure iron, comprising: a. heating a processed sample to a range of a phase change temperature of a material; b. applying a pressure of 1-5 GPa to the sample in all directions; c. maintaining the temperature for 3-60 min at a selected pressure point; and d. randomly keeping a selected pressure value during cooling, and releasing the pressure when reaching room temperature; or loading a superhigh pressure of 1-5 GPa before heating. By limiting volumetric expansion during phase change, internal stress of phase change is fully released inside the material, so that a great amount of lattice defects and nano-twinned crystals are formed (the thickness of the nano-twinned crystals is less than 10 nm), the dislocation density of the nano-twinned crystals is approximately 1016-1017/m2, and the hardness thereof is increased by 4-10 times compared with an unprocessed steel material.
