Abstract:
Provided is a nanodiamond aqueous dispersion that achieves high dispersion of nanodiamond particles in water. This nanodiamond aqueous dispersion includes water and nanodiamond particles that are dispersed in the water. The nanodiamond aqueous dispersion contains no more than 1 part by mass of heavy metals per 100 parts by mass of the nanodiamond particles, and the horizontal projection area of the nanodiamond particles as calculated from a low-temperature electron microscope image satisfies at least one condition selected from among (a)–(d). (a) The percentage 100 nm2 or greater is no more than 20%. (b) The percentage 80 nm2 or greater is no more than 24%. (c) The percentage 50 nm2 or greater is no more than 30%. (d) The percentage 30 nm2 or greater is no more than 39%.
