Abstract:
A natural alternative plant essential oil preservative, consisting of a compound plant essential oil and an active substance. The preservative comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 2-17% of linalool by weight of the preservative (similarly hereinafter), 0.5-5% of geraniol, 2-20% of thyme essential oil, 0.5-6% of clove oil, 0.1-0.8% of 2-isopropyl-5-methylphenol, 0.1-2% of cinnamon oil, 2-19% of cedar essential oil, 1-12% of lemongrass essential oil, 0.5-5% of rosemary essential oil, 0.5-5% of neroli essential oil, 0.5-5% of peppermint oil, 0.1-0.8% of geranium essential oil, 0.05-1.5% of glycerol monolaurate, and the balance jojoba oil. The preservative is applied to cosmetics for inhibition of aspergillus niger, candida albicans, staphylococcus aureus, and pseudomonas aeruginosa. The preservative contains no other chemical preservatives and is effective in inhibiting and killing microorganisms in cosmetic emulsion formulations.
