Abstract:
Provided is a natural gas reformer catalytic tube assessment method with which it is possible to comparatively easily assess the remaining useful lifespan of all catalytic tubes which are configured with catalytic tube main bodies, short pieces, and pigtails. The temperatures of a plurality of catalytic tubes are measured (S1). Assessment objects are chosen based on the result of the temperature measurement (S2). The rate of evagination of the short pieces and the pigtails which configure the catalytic tubes which are chosen as the assessment object is computed (S3). When the rate of evagination of the short pieces and the pigtails is greater than or equal to a reference value, the rate of evagination of the catalytic tube main body which configures the assessment object catalytic tube is computed (S6). If the rate of evagination of the catalytic tube main body is less than a reference value (S7) and a measured value which is obtained by carrying out an eddy flaw detection inspection is less than a reference value (S8), the remaining useful lifetime of the catalytic tube is assessed with a replica method (S9-S14).
