Abstract:
A navigation device has a display device mounted, for example, on a vehicle and
displaying a map, route guidance information etc. Further, the navigation device
has the so-called route search function that searches for a route that is set by
the user or is automatically set by other means, and as the result of the search,
guidance waypoints are determined on the searched route. Also, the navigation
device determines a display region determined based on the current position,
displaying on the display screen of the display device a map of the place around
the current position, and displays on the display screen a route from the current
position up to a destination. In addition, the navigation device displays guidance
maps corresponding to all the guidance waypoints included in the current display
region. Accordingly, the user can previously know guidance information on all
the guidance waypoint present in the region currently displayed.
