Abstract:
A navigation device includes: map information update means (13) for updating map information stored in map information storage means (11) according to map update information which has been read out from a storage medium mounted on a storage medium drive means (12); mounting detection means (14) for detection of mounting of a storage medium; map information ID matching means (15) for judging whether a map information ID attached to the map information coincides with a map information ID attached to map update information; map information selection control means (16) for selecting all of the map information stored in the map information storage means if mounting of a storage medium is detected and the map information ID’s coincide and, otherwise, selecting a part of the map information; navigation information calculation means (17) for generating navigation information according to the map information selected; and navigation information output means (18) for outputting the generated navigation information.
