Abstract:

Provided is a navigation device. A medium insertion unit is provided on the front of a main unit so as to allow a portable recording medium to be inserted into and removed from the main unit. A display unit is provided on the front of the main unit and can move between the closed position where the medium insertion unit is covered and the open position where the medium insertion unit is exposed. A restriction unit restricts the motion of the display unit to the open position. A restriction release unit releases the restriction by the restriction unit. An operation unit accepts operations for the navigation device. The operation unit can accept a different operation to the operation originally accepted thereby. The restriction release unit releases the restriction put in place by the restriction unit when the operation unit accepts a different operation to the operation originally accepted thereby.
