Disclosed are a navigation method and a terminal in the present invention which relates to the technical field of communications, and the power of electronic equipment is reduced in a navigation procedure. The particular solution is that: the terminal obtains the starting place information and the destination information, and obtains the traveling route information determined by the starting place information and the destination information; the terminal obtains the terminal position information in the terminal moving process; the terminal turns off the terminal screen or adjusts the terminal screen luminance from a first screen luminance to a second screen luminance, when the position information of the terminal indicates the terminal is in a first preset section of the traveling route; and the first screen luminance is higher than the second screen luminance. The present invention is used in navigation procedures.
