Abstract:
Provided is a navigation system capable of aligning map information used by a navigation
device and a navigation server with an appropriate frequency and at an appropriate
timing considering the necessity of update of the map information used by the
navigation device. When there is "a differential information" between
the navigation map information and the support map information, "index information"
for identifying the differential information is transmitted from the navigation
server 100 to the navigation device 200 and the navigation device 200 outputs
"prediction information" indicating the outline of the differential
information generated according to the index information. When a request signal
based on a request operation by a user in the navigation device 200 is transmitted
from the navigation device 200 to the navigation server 100, the differential
information is transmitted from the navigation server 100 to the navigation
device 200, so that the navigation map information is updated in accordance with
the differential information.
