Abstract:
Provided is a near infrared absorbing dye capable of achieving superior light shielding properties in the long wavelength region of near infrared light while having high visible light transmittance, an optical filter, and an imaging device using said optical filter and having excellent color reproducibility. The near infrared absorbing dye comprises a croconium-based compound shown in formula (AI). In the formula (AI), the Z ring represents a 6-membered ring which has no heteroatoms and may be substituted, or a 5-membered ring which has 0 to 3 heteroatoms in the ring and may be substituted, and the carbon atoms or heteroatoms constituting R1 and R2, R2 and R3, and R1 and the Z ring may be bonded to each other with a nitrogen atom to form a heterocyclic ring A, a heterocyclic ring B, and a heterocyclic ring C, respectively.
