| C L A I M S 1 . A necktie with preassembled knot, characterised by comprising a flexible core of plastic material, with dimensions corresponding to the visible part of a necktie, said core being covered with fabric (8) and being provided upperly with a support (4) for removable engagement with a preformed knot (10), also covered with fabric, said support (4) and said knot (10) being provided with means (6, 12) for their mutual engagement at adjustable height, said support being provided with means (16) for its fixing to a shirt. 2. A necktie as claimed in claim 1 , characterised in that said support (4) is provided with a plurality of knurls (6) cooperating with knurls (12) provided in said knot (10). 3. A necktie as claimed in claim 1 , characterised in that the knot and the support are of C cross-section. 4. A necktie as claimed in claim 1 , characterised in that the fixing means consist of elastic appendices. |
The present invention relates to a necktie with preassembled knot.
A necktie is used ornamentally in the form of a strip of fabric of differing width wrapped about the neck and fixed to the neck by a knot. The knotting operation requires however a certain dexterity (lifting the collar, forming the knot etc.) which for example is not possessed by certain persons suffering from particular illnesses (for example Parkinson's disease).
This operation also requires a certain precision in arranging the two strip parts at the same height but with the wider strip part extending by a slightly greater length than the narrower strip part.
An object of the invention is to eliminate these drawbacks by providing a necktie which can be applied to a shirt easily and comfortably.
This and other objects which will be apparent from the ensuing description are attained according to the invention by a necktie with preassembled knot as described in claim 1 .
A preferred embodiment of the invention is further clarified hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is an exploded front view of a necktie according to the invention, Figure 2 is a plan view thereof, Figure 3 is a longitudinal section therethrough, and Figure 4 is a rear view showing it assembled.
As can be seen from the figures, the necktie with preassembled knot according to the invention comprises substantially a flexible core of plastic/rubber, with dimensions corresponding to the visible part of a traditional knotted necktie and provided upperly with a support 4 provided with a plurality of horizontal parallel knurls 6 of substantially C cross-section. The flexible core 2 is completely covered with fabric 8 applied preferably by glue.
The invention also comprises a preformed knot 10 of plastic/rubber, covered preferably with the same fabric as the necktie, it having a substantially C cross-section and being provided in its cavity with knurls 12 for engagement, at an adjustable height, by the knurls 6 of the support 4.
The support 4 comprises a longitudinal slot 14 bounded upperly by two coupling appendices 16 which, when pulled towards each other, can engage elastically in the buttonhole of a shirt, for example that described in Italian Patent Application VE2008A000037 of the same applicant.
From the aforegoing it is apparent that the necktie with preassembled knot according to the invention presents numerous advantages, and in particular:
- it can be coupled to the shirt collar easily and comfortably, - it presents a reduction in the fabric quantity used to form the necktie,
- it enables neckties to be used with the knot fabric different from the fabric of the hanging part of the necktie.
