Abstract:
Disclosed are a needle selection device of a flat knitting machine, and a selector, wherein even if the spacing between a carriage and a needle bed changes with the traveling of the carriage, stable needle selection is made possible.
A needle selection device (20) of a flat knitting machine (17) includes a needle selection mechanism (20a) mounted on a carriage (11), and a selector (19) housed in a needle trick (5) together with a knitting needle (6). An elastic leg piece (19c) of the selector (19) has the tip bent to the side of the carriage (11), and comes into contact with the cam surface of a spring support cam (27). When an armature (19d) which is adsorbed onto an adsorption surface (24a) of a needle selection actuator (24) which is provided to the side of the carriage (11) is released by adsorption release, the spring force based on the elastic leg piece (19c) is required to be larger than adsorption force. The selector (19) does not depend on the side of a needle bed (2) and is supported depending only on the side of the carriage (11), and thus generates stable spring force to enable the stable needle selection even if the spacing between the carriage (11) and the needle bed (2) changes with the traveling of the carriage (11).
