Abstract:
The present invention is a negative electrode active material that contains negative electrode active material particles, the negative electrode active material characterized in that the negative electrode active material particles contain a silicon compound represented by SiOx (0.5 ≤ x ≤ 1.6), and in a XANES spectrum obtained from a XANES measurement of the negative electrode active material particles, the peak is in a range of 539-541 eV. As a result, provided is a negative electrode active material that, when used as the negative electrode active material of a secondary cell, is able to increase cell capacity and improve cycle characteristics.
