Abstract:
This negative electrode active substance for a secondary battery comprises silicate complex particles containing silicon particles and a lithium silicate phase. The silicon particles are dispersed in the lithium silicate phase, and the porosity of the silicate complex particles is 2% or less. In addition, in a diffraction pattern obtained using an X-Ray diffraction method (XRD), the ratio, I1/I1, of the integrated intensity I2 of peaks derived from the lithium silicate phase occurring within the range 2θ=23-25º relative to the integrated intensity I1 of peaks derived from the Si (111) face of the silicon particles occurring within the range 2θ=27-30º is 0.3 or less.
