Abstract:
Provided is a lithium ion secondary battery having high energy density and excellent cycling characteristics. The present invention relates to a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, the negative electrode including a negative electrode collector and a negative electrode mixture layer comprising a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode binder, wherein the negative electrode active material comprises a silicon-containing alloy (Si alloy). The Si alloy is crystalline and the median diameter (D50 particle diameter) thereof is less than or equal to 1.2 μm, and the ratio of the negative electrode binder included in the negative electrode mixture layer by weight is between 12-50 wt%.
