Abstract:
The present invention provides a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, the negative electrode being provided with: a negative electrode active material layer containing a negative electrode active material and a binder for a negative electrode; and an insulating layer which is provided on the surface of the negative electrode active material layer and contains insulating fine particles and a binder for an insulating layer, wherein the amount of the insulating fine particles covering the surface of the negative electrode active material layer is 20-70%. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a negative electrode which is for a lithium ion secondary battery and is capable of producing a lithium ion secondary battery having excellent cycle characteristics, and a lithium ion secondary battery provided with said negative electrode.
