Abstract:
The present invention is a negative electrode material containing negative electrode active material particles, which is characterized in that: the negative electrode active material particles contain silicon compound particles that contain a silicon compound (SiOx, wherein 0.5 ≤ x ≤ 1.6); the silicon compound particles contain at least one of Li2SiO3 and Li4SiO4; and the negative electrode material additionally contains at least one of metal compound particles containing a metal compound and an aggregate of the metal compound particles. Consequently, the present invention provides a negative electrode material which is capable of stabilizing a slurry that is formed during the production of a negative electrode for secondary batteries, and which is capable of improving the initial charge/discharge characteristics and the cycle characteristics if used as a negative electrode material for a secondary battery.
