Abstract:
A metal negative electrode in which: a collector comprises a through hole or a recess that is provided from the front surface of a flat plate towards the reverse surface of the flat plate. Taking, as the region division distance, a distance that is smaller than the maximum distance between the center point of a joining boundary and the front surface or a side of the collector and spans from the center point to a point on the front surface of the collector, then for a first region of the collector in which the distance from the center point is equal to or greater than the region division distance, and a second region of the collector in which the distance from the center point is less than the region division distance, the percentage of reduction in volume of the first region relative to the volume of the first region when it is assumed that no through hole or recess is present is greater than the percentage of reduction in the volume of the second region relative to the volume of the second region when it is assumed that no through hole or recess is present.
