Abstract:
The present invention is a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode current collector which has a roughened surface and a negative electrode active material layer which is provided on the negative electrode current collector, said negative electrode being characterized in that: the negative electrode active material layer contains negative electrode active material particles each of which has a compound of lithium, silicon, and oxygen and a complex compound with which a surface layer and a gap between the negative electrode active material particles are filled, in which at least a carbon atom and an oxygen atom are chemically bonded, and which is not alloyed with the negative electrode active material particles; and the ratio O/Si between the oxygen and the silicon which constitute the negative electrode active material particles falls within the range of 0.8-1.2. Thus, the present invention can provide a negative electrode which makes it possible to significantly increase capacity while maintaining battery characteristics.
