Abstract:
Disclosed is a negative electrode (1) for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which comprises: a negative electrode collector (10); a negative electrode active material layer (12) that contains a plurality of columnar alloy-based active materials (13) that are so supported as to extend outward from the surface of the negative electrode collector (10) and capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions; and a polymer layer (15) that is formed on the outer surfaces of the columnar alloy-based active materials (13) and contains a lithium ion-transmitting resin. In the negative electrode (1) for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, the polymer layer (15) is formed to have such a thickness that the gaps (17) each formed between adjacent columnar alloy-based active materials (13) are not filled up with the polymer layer (15). Also disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which comprises the negative electrode (1) for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
