The present invention relates to a lithium ion battery which is used by connecting the positive electrode side to a negative electrode part that is formed of Cu or a Cu alloy by means of a bus bar that is formed of Al or an Al alloy. The present invention provides a negative electrode terminal for lithium ion batteries, which is capable of providing sufficient bonding strength between the negative electrode part and the bus bar in cases when the negative electrode part and the bus bar are metallurgically bonded with each other by resistance welding or the like. This negative electrode terminal for lithium ion batteries comprises a first metal layer that is formed of Al or an Al alloy and a second metal layer that is formed of Cu or a Cu alloy. The first metal layer and the second metal layer are bonded with each other with a reaction-suppressing layer for suppressing a reaction being interposed therebetween, thereby forming a clad material.
