Abstract:
The present invention relates to a nematode control composition comprising a grammicin compound separated from a Xylaria grammica strain as an active ingredient, and a use thereof, wherein the nematode control substance grammicin, according to the present invention, is derived from a natural substance, and thus is harmless to the human body and does not cause environmental pollution, and exhibits excellent control activity against Meloidogyne spp., and thus may be usefully employed in developing an environmentally friendly natural nematicide and producing high value-added organic agricultural products. In addition, the present invention may be used directly or as a lead compound in developing a drug for controlling nematodes in animals and the human body. When such technique is developed and transferred to domestic companies, and a biological control product is manufactured therefrom, the result may contribute not only to the domestic production of environmentally friendly agricultural products but also to earning foreign currency by exporting same to the global market.
