Abstract:
A serum protein is now found which is effective for the determination of the disease
condition of nephrotic syndrome and can reflect a therapeutic effect rapidly.
Disclosed are: a therapy monitoring method for the disease or a prognosis method
using the protein; a kit for use in the method; and a screening method for a therapeutic
agent for nephrotic syndrome. More specifically disclosed is a method for the
determination of a disease condition of nephrotic syndrome, which comprises
the steps of: obtaining a sample from a subject suffering from nephrotic syndrome;
and determining the amount of MBL-protease isoform-2 in the sample.
