The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and discloses a network connection method and apparatus. The method comprises: a network device receiving first indication information from a first terminal device, the first indication information being used for indicating that a second terminal device accesses a network; sending a first detection request message according to the first indication information, wherein the first detection request message is used for indicating that the second terminal device accesses a first network of the network device, and the first network is a network without an access password; and sending a network identifier and the access password to the second terminal device in the first network, wherein the network identifier and the access password are used for accessing a second network. By means of the described method, when the second terminal device is configured to access the network, the first terminal device only needs to send the first indication information to the network device in order to reduce operations of a user in the first terminal device, conveniently and quickly complete the network configuration process of the second terminal device, and increase the network configuration efficiency, which is particularly suitable for batch network configuration scenarios in which a plurality of devices undergo network configuration at the same time.
