Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a network device, for example, with which it is possible to connect, in a redundant configuration, a first network in which a traffic communication route is determined using an Ethernet ring protocol, and a second network in which a traffic communication route is determined by transmitting and receiving, in the network, a control frame relating to a traffic communication route. Upon transitioning to a state in which there is no interface capable of communicating with the first network and there is an interface capable of communicating with the second network, the network device transitions to a standby state and transmits communication disability information to the second network. Upon transitioning to a state in which there is an interface capable of communicating with the first network and there is no interface capable of communicating with the second network, the network device transitions to a standby state and transmits communication route change information to the first network.
