Abstract:
Disclosed by the present invention is a network positioning method: media access control (MAC) addresses and N geographic positions of N Wifis are recorded in a terminal device, wherein the MAC addresses and the N geographic positions of the N Wifis are in one-to-one correspondence; a first geographic position is the geographic position of the terminal device obtained by means of the terminal device carrying out network positioning when a total duration of the terminal device accessing a first Wifi during a first duration exceeds a first threshold and when an access duration of the terminal device accessing the first Wifi each time during a second duration exceeds a second threshold; the MAC address of the Wifi corresponding to the first geographic position is any one of the MAC addresses of the N Wifis; and N is a positive integer. The method comprises: the terminal device accessing a second Wifi; and when a second geographic position corresponding to an MAC address of the second Wifi is recorded in the terminal device, the terminal device using the second geographic position as a current geographic position of the terminal device. Also provided by the embodiments of the present invention is a terminal device. Using the embodiments of the present invention may shorten the time required for positioning.
