Abstract:
Disclosed in embodiments of the present invention are a network search control method and a terminal device, which are applied to the field of mobile communications. The method in an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a terminal device obtains a first network access capability supported by a network device; the terminal device obtains a second network access capability supported by the terminal device; and the terminal device obtains a target network standard, and uses the target network standard as a standard of a network needing to be searched for, the target network standard being a network standard both supported by the first network access capability and the second network access capability. By implementing the embodiments of the present invention, a search range of a terminal device during a network search can be narrowed, and it is avoided that time is spent on searching for an inaccessible network, thereby saving the network search time, and improving the efficiency.
