Abstract:
Provided is a network wherein sFlow and OpenFlow are combined, implementing carrying out detailed traffic monitoring. Specifically, a FlowID, which is a flow identifier for identifying a flow (group of packets) is prepared, the FlowID is stored in an entry in a flow table, and an sFlow agent is made capable of designating the FlowID as a data source. Specifically, the FlowID is retained in a cookie of an entry which is logged in a switch flow table from a controller, and an operation is carried out on received packets that match the rule of the entry, according to an action which is defined in the entry. In the switch, the FlowID which is designated as the data source is acquired in the MIB which is used in sFlow, and statistical information of the packet which matches the entry is acquired based on the FlowID.
