Abstract:
A method of promoting neural cell regeneration is carried out by contacting a neural cell with a compound that inhibits the binding of a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG ) to a cellular (e.g., transmembrane) PTPσ protein. The neural cell is associated with an injury or neurodegenerative condition.
