Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a neural stem cell having an increased passage ability; a method for producing the neural stem cell having an increased passage ability; and other. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a neural stem cell having an increased passage ability, said neural stem cell having the following characteristic properties: (a) a N-type calcium channel gene is knocked out or knocked down in the cell; (b) the inflow of Ca2+ through a N-type calcium channel is substantially eliminated or reduced in the cell; (c) the cell can be subcultured for at least 4 generations (preferably 15 generations); and (d) the cell can maintain an ability of being differentiated into a nerve cell even after the cell is subcultured for 4 generations (preferably 15 generations).
