Title:
NEW LAVATORY PAN
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/040512
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A lavatory pan is composed of the main frame (1), two embodied antislipping pads on upper part (3, 4), siphon in center (5) and folding ring 2 (H: 2 - 15 cm). Furthermore, pads on the ring exist, like those on frame. Way A: User ascends on frame, steps on pads and supports himself on his feet. Way B: He lowers the folding ring and sits on it. The siphon is located at the center, so that the sewage is directed to the back inclined part and not into the hole, which would result in wetting the user. It agrees with both ways of toilet usage for which two different types are demanded (floor - compatible).

CLAIMS
1. The new lavatory pan is composed of the toilet frame (1), the folding ring (lid) (2), is distinguished by the fact that its frame (1) which is of low height, has two embossed or selfadhesive antislipping pads (3,4), embodied to it at the toilet's upper left and right front and a siphon (5) in the center of the toilet (1). The folding ring (lid) (2) is fixed on the upper back of the toilet and its height ranges from 2 to 15 cm.
2. According to claim 1, the new lavatory pan is distin guished by the fact that its height ranges from 18 to 50 cm.
3. According to claims 1,2, the new lavatory pan is charac terized by the fact that the ring (lid) has the same struc ture with the toilet frame, as it also has embossed or self adhesive antislipping pads AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 28 July 2004 (28.07. 2004) claim 13 are replaced by new claims 12. CLAIMS 1. The new lavatory pan which is composed by the toilet seat's body (1) and the folding ring (lid) (2), is character ized by the following: the seat's body, which is of low height, is uniform and includes at the upper part of it an edge (rim), that is formed according to European type toi let seats. This edge enlarges upon two isometric pads (3,4) at the front of the seat. This enlargement is at the same level with the edge. The new lavatory pan also in cludes a siphon (5) inside the toilet seat and a folding ring (lid) (2), which is supported at the upper rear part of the seat. The ring is isometrically level and applies in a uniform way all over the seat's edge (rim), even at the point where the edge (rim) enlarges creating the two anti skid pads. Identical pads to those of the seat's edge are impressed at the lower surface of the lid (reverse pads) so that the lid applies exactly on the edge's pads. Lid's upper surface, where the user sits, is level and smooth. The height of the lid ranges from 2 to 15 cm.
4. 2 According to claim 1, the new lavatory pan is character ized by the fact that the ring (lid) has the same structure with the toilet frame, as it also has embossed or self adhesive antislipping pads.
Description:
New lavatory pan This invention is about a lavatory pan intended for pub- lic and work areas. It is composed of the toilet's frame, which carries two anti-slipping pads, the folding ring (lid) and a siphon in the center. These pads are divided in embossed or self-adhesive ones, and are located at the toilet's upper left and right front.

Nowadays, in public and work areas (public WC, courts, educational establishments, clubs etc) where thousands of people daily use toilets, this use varies from difficult to impossible mainly because the two existing toilet types can not be used by all. Some can use the first one and some the other.

These two types are the following: The traditional one, the floor type toilet (Turkish), and the compatible house toilet (European).

None of those can satisfy all users'needs in the above areas because of the reasons below: A person using the first type of toilet, the traditional one, steps on it and there is no contact between the toi- let and his body. In his effort to balance, the person sup- ports himself by leaning on his feet and more specifi- cally on his legs. So, this toilet is inconvenient as it can not be used by corpulent people, overweight people, the elderly, sick and weakened people.

Moreover, this type of toilet is at disadvantage because

Moreover, this type of toilet is at disadvantage because its appearance is inelegant and also because of its shape, the sanitary discharge gets difficult. Consequently, the toilet soils very easily and can not get fully cleaned by the usual water flow from the cistern. So, the toilet, right after the first use, is very unclean and repulsive, having also a strong smell.

A person using the second toilet type, the European, has obligatory body contact with it as there is no other way for using it but to sit on it. This toilet is also inconven- ient because the user is at risk of contamination since these toilets in public areas are used by a great deal of people and are usually unclean.

Therefore, these two types of lavatory pan do not serve public places well, by causing trouble and various kinds of problems to users.

The present invention-the new lavatory pan-is at advantage because user can utilize it through both ways; He can either ascend on it, by stepping on the two pads, supporting himself on his feet and avoiding any body contact with the toilet or either he can sit on the folding ring with his feet supported by the floor. No risk of contamination exists since the full cleaning of the toilet is achieved by the specially designed siphon which fa- cilitates the sanitary discharge. In addition, the low pressure cistern contributes to the full cleaning of the toilet.

Drawing 1 illustrates a perspective aspect of the new lavatory. pan which composes of the toilet's frame (1), with the two embossed or self-adhesive anti-slipping pads at the toilet's upper left and right front (3,4) and siphon in the center of the toilet internally (5). Drawing 2 illustrates the folding ring which can be fixed on the toilet's upper back.

According to the invention of drawing 1, the new lava- tory pan can be of small height and has two embossed or self-adhesive anti-slipping pads at the toilet's upper left and right front, embodied to it. Everyone can easily as- cend on it, step on it and use it according to the first way.

The siphon (5) located in the center of the toilet, allows to user, who steps on the pads (3,4), to discharge easily without getting wet and therefore contaminated, as his sewage falls in the internal inclined part of the toilet and not in the siphon's hole. The thickness of the fold- ing ring (lid) is 5 cm or more, so that when lowered, the toilet acquires the appropriate height for the seated who either does not want or either can not use the toilet by the first way. Thus, a person can comfortably use the toilet while seated on it in accordance to the second way of toilet usage.

The structure of the toilet's lid can be similar to that of the lavatory pan, having embossed or self-adhesive anti- slipping pads.

The height of the new lavatory pan ranges from 18 to 50 cm.

The present invention gives a solution to contemporary

man's problem as it succeeds in overcoming all the above inefficiencies and insufficiencies of the previous compatible two toilet types (Turkish-European).

Therefore, all people visiting public areas and being in need of using a toilet will be able to use the present in- vention whether they desire to handle it according to the first way or according to the second one. Thanks to this new invention, a great long-lasting problem of modern man when found in public areas, is brought to an end.
