Abstract:
To develop a protective group which does not allow a compound having a protected functional group therein to solidify or become insoluble and which facilitates separation and purification after reaction. The present invention provides a xanthene compound represented by general formula (1) (in the formulae: Y represents a carbonyl group integrated with -OR17 (here, R17 represents a hydrogen atom or an active ester-type protective group), -NHR18 (here, R18 represents a hydrogen atom, a linear or branched C1-6 alkyl group, or an aralkyl group), an azide, a halogen atom, or a methylene group; at least one among R1-R8 represents a group represented by formula (2), and the remainder represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-4 alkyl group, or a C1-4 alkoxy group; R9 represents a linear or branched C1-16 alkylene group; X represents O or CONR19 (here, R19 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group); and A represents a group represented by formula (3), etc. (here, R10, R11, and R12 are the same or different and represent a linear or branched C1-6 alkyl group or an optionally substituted aryl group, R13 represents a single bond or a linear or branched C1-3 alkylene group, and R14, R15, and R16 each represent a linear or branched C1-3 alkylene group).
