Title:
NEW XYLENE-BASED AMPHIPATHIC COMPOUND AND USE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/039107
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a xylene-based amphipathic compound, a method for preparing same, and a method for extracting, solubilizing, stabilizing, or crystallizing membrane proteins by using said compound. By using the xylene-based compound according to the present invention, membrane proteins can be stably kept in an aqueous solution for a long period of time and thus can be utilized in the analysis of the function and structure thereof. The analysis of the structure and function of membrane proteins is one of the fields that currently receive the most attention in biology and chemistry, and thus can be applied to protein structure research, which is closely related to the development of new drugs.
