Title:
NICKEL-PLATED STAINLESS-STEEL WIRE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/023561
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A nickel-plated stainless-steel wire which has satisfactory lubricity on tools and excellent processability. The nickel-plated stainless-steel wire is one produced by plating a raw stainless-steel wire with nickel and drawing the plated wire to thereby form recesses in the surface of the nickel deposit layer, and has a constitution in which an inorganic salt functioning to hold a lubricant is accumulated in the recesses. Even when that almost flat part of the plated wire which is the surface other than the recesses of the nickel deposit layer has almost no inorganic salt adherent thereto, the plated wire shows satisfactory lubricity on tools in drawing or coiling because of the lubricant-holding function of the inorganic salt accumulated in the recesses. Thus, the plated stainless-steel wire has improved processability.
