Description:
DESCRIPTION

A NIPPLE WITH SPECIAL FORM

Subject of the Invention The invention concerns a fitting element designed with a special form to be used for the purpose of preventing the deformation that would be generated by the water jet effect of the liquid coming from a plumbing system and/or any source in a body section where the body and the open-close apparatus join in a fixture, stop valve or any mechanism subject to the passage of liquid. State of the Art

In the currently used fixtures, stop valves or any kind of mechanism controlling the passage of water, a part referred to as the nipple as fitting element is positioned at the point of junction of the body with the open-close apparatus where the inflow of water to said mechanism is controlled. In case said nipple is not positioned on the body, the body undergoes deformation in time under the effect of the water jet generated by the liquid entering the mechanism. In case said nipple is made of metal, the use of said nipple is not always preferred due to the cost it brings.

Said deformations become even more extensive in time causing problems in the systems that are present on the fixtures, stop valves or mechanisms controlling the passage of water and that enable the passage of the liquids to be controlled, and as a result, the problems such as the inability to stop the passage of liquid or the inability to enable the flow of the liquid are encountered in said mechanisms.

The present invention being the subject of the application relates to a nipple with special form developed as a solution to these problems. Object of the Invention

The object of the invention is to develop a fitting element more specifically a nipple with a special form to be used for the purpose of preventing the deformation that would be generated by the water jet effect of the liquid coming from a plumbing system and/or any l source in a body section where the body and the open-close apparatus join in a fixture, stop valve or other mechanisms subject to the passage of liquid.

The invention concerns a fitting element designed with a special form to be used for the purpose of preventing the deformation that would be generated by the water jet effect of the liquid coming from a plumbing system and/or any source in a body section where the body and the open-close aseembly join in a fixture, stop valve or any mechanism subject to the passage of liquid.

The invention being the subject of the application relates to a fitting element for preventing the deformation that the liquid, entering the fixture, stop valve or mechanism controlling the passage of water from a plumbing system and/or any source, would generate through the effect of the water jet on the body in any kind of mechanism such as a fixture and stop valve that controls the passage of liquid.

The invention is about a fitting element developed for use in any mechanism such as a fixture and stop valve subject to the passage of liquid and a fixture, stop valve or a mechanism subject to the inflow of liquid from a plumbing system and/or any source in which said fitting element is positioned. Figure 1 shows the fitting element according to the invention and the use of said fitting element on said mechanism.

In one embodiment of the invention said fitting element is namely a nipple (4).

Said mechanism (A) comprises at least one open-close assembly (1) and at least one body (2) where the open-close assembly is to be positioned. Nipple (4) according to the invention is positioned on the body (2) of the product where it is used. The nipple (4) is positioned on the body (2) on a junction surface (11) for the open-close assembly (1) and the body. The nipple comprises at least one fixing region (6) that enables said nipple to be fixed on the body (2). Said fixing region (6) contains the recesses (6a) where the fixing teeth (13) on the body (2) are to be fixed. The nipple (4) fits on the body (2) via at least one upper fitting region (7a) and lower fitting region (7b).

The nipple (4) according to the invention is secured on the body (2) via the screwing or fitting method. According to the preferred use, the nipple (4) is secured on the body (2) by way of securing the fixing teeth (13) on the body in the recesses (6a) on the nipple (4). The open-close assembly (1) may be fixed to the body (2) via the screwing method such that said assembly is located above the nipple (4). The open-close assembly (1) contacts at least one abutting surface (10) on the nipple (4). At least one sealing element (12) positioned on the open-close assembly (1) provides the sealing between the open-close assembly (1) and the nipple (4). Said sealing element (12) is preferably a gasket. At least one sealing element (3) is positioned in at least one sealing surface (9) on the nipple (4) in order to ensure the sealing between the nipple (4) and the body (2) during the passage of the liquid entering the mechanism (A) from the open-close assembly (1) into the body (2). Said sealing element (3) is preferably an o-ring. In case the sealing element (3) is not used, the sealing may also be provided by way of wrapping flax on the fixing region (6) of the nipple (4) before the nipple (4) is fitted on the body (2) and then fitting the same on the body (2).

The nipple (4) developed within the scope of the invention is manufactured from a material such as plastic, polyamide, etc. Unlike the nipples used according to the state of the art, the nipple according to the invention is not made from metal, thereby reducing the cost and eliminating the problem of deformation occurring in the metal nipples. However, the problem of fracture occurs during the assembly of the nipple as it is made from plastic. For this reason, the nipple developed within the scope of the invention is provided with a special form. The nipple (4) comprises thereon the abutting regions (5). Said abutting regions (5) eliminate the fracture effect likely to be generated on the nipple (4) due to the use of excessive force by the user or the technical staff who performs the securing procedure while carrying out the assembly by way of fitting the appropriate installation wrench to the wrench port (8) on the nipple (4) for the screwing or securing procedure during the assembly of the nipple (4) on the body (2). According to the preferred embodiment, the abutting regions (5) are positioned in a quantity of three on the nipple (4), where it is also possible to employ greater or smaller number of said regions. The special abutting regions may be in triangular form, but it is also possible for said regions to have a square, straight, elliptical and another different geometry within the scope of the invention. The wall thickness of said abutting regions (5) is provided in such an extent to allow the water passage at the desired flow rate range and said thickness is in the range of 2-4 mm. In case the nipple (4) is not placed on the body (2), the liquid passing through the open-close assembly (1) will, due to the water jet effect it generates, cause the body (2) to undergo deformation and this condition will result in the inability of the open-close assembly (1) to perform its function.

Owing to the nipple (4) developed within the scope of the invention, no deformation occurs on the body (2) and the nipple (4), owing to its abutting regions (5) with special form, is enabled to be fixed on the body without experiencing damage. The fixture, stop valve or any mechanism (A) subject to the passage of liquid, where said nipple is positioned, is also encompassed by the scope of the invention.

Within the scope of the invention nipple (4) was explained as an example of any fitting element used in the fixture, stop valve or any mechanism (A) subject to the passage of liquid with the same structure. Any fitting element used in the same region with the same structure instead of a nipple (4), should be thought as equivalent to the said nipple (4).
