Abstract:
A noble-metal-based amorphous alloy comprising platinum, copper, and phosphorus in respective amounts of 50 ≤ Pt ≤ 75 at.%, 5 ≤ Cub ≤ 35 at.%, and 15 ≤ P ≤ 25 at.%; and a noble-metal-based amorphous alloy comprising platinum, palladium, copper, and phosporus in respective amounts of 5 ≤ Pt ≤ 70 at.%, 5 ≤ Pd ≤ 50 at.%, 5 ≤ Cu ≤ 50 at.%, and 5 ≤ P ≤ 30 at.%. In producing these alloys having such compositions, the cooling rates are preferably 10?-1¿ to 10?2¿ °/sec for the Pt-Cu-P alloy and 10?1¿ to 10?2¿ °/sec for the Pt-Pd-Cu-P alloy.
