Abstract:
The nodes in an optical power supply system, which uses a multi-core fiber equipped with three or more nodes and having a plurality of cores in at least some of the inter-node-connecting intervals, are equipped with: a power supply optical branching unit for branching some or all of the light for power supply from a core belonging to the multi-core fiber; an optical power conversion unit for converting the light to be used to supply power and branched by the power supply optical branching unit into electricity; and a power supply target facility that runs on the electricity converted by the optical power conversion unit.
