Abstract:
A conventional noise reducing device requires two filters and two resonance chambers, resulting in the device becoming large-sized and complicated. Therefore, there has been a problem that the device is difficult to incorporate into a home electric appliance. The noise reducing device of the invention comprises a noise reducing plate (11) disposed in the vicinity of a noise source (5) and opposed to the latter, and a plurality of sound-heat transducing holes (12) formed in the noise reducing plate (11) for transducing sound energy into heat energy, each sound-heat transducing hole (12) comprising a contraction chamber (13) disposed on the side of the noise source (5) and having a first hole width, and an expansion chamber (14) disposed on the side opposite to the noise source (5) side and having a second hole width greater than the first hole width; therefore, the device is simple in arrangement, and reduction in size and weight of the device is realized. As a result, incorporation into a home electric appliance, such as a sweeper, becomes easier, and it becomes possible to provide a superior, almost noiseless home electric appliance at low cost.
