Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that can reliably operate an electricity shut-off mechanism during overcharge, without decreasing battery performance. This non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery 1 comprises: a positive electrode 41 within a container 2; container-internal positive electrode terminals 21, 23; a negative electrode 42; container-internal negative electrode terminals 22, 24; a non-aqueous electrolyte; and an electricity shut-off mechanism 68b for which electricity with the container exterior can be shut off when the container internal pressure rises. Comprised is a solid electrolyte layer that generates a gas that makes it possible to operate the electricity shut-off mechanism 68b in at least one member of a positive electrode mixture layer unformed part 41b, a negative electrode mixture layer unformed part 42b, the container-internal positive electrode terminals 21, 23, and the container-internal negative electrode terminals 22, 24.
