Abstract:

This non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises an electrode body, an exterior body which has a prescribed exterior shape and which houses the electrode body, and a sealing body which seals an opening at the upper end of the exterior body. A positive electrode included in the electrode body includes a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode mixture layer which is formed on the surface of the positive electrode current collector and which includes a positive electrode active material and a conductive agent. The positive electrode active material contains a lithium-containing complex oxide. The lithium-containing complex oxide has a layered rock salt structure, contains substantially no Co, and contains at least Ni and Mn. The Ni content in the lithium-containing complex oxide is not less than 70 mol% with respect to the total number of moles of metal elements excluding Li. The basis weight of the positive electrode mixture layer is not less than 250 g/m2. Three or more positive electrode leads are drawn out in the electrode body.
