Abstract:
This non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode group including a first electrode that has a first current collector, a second electrode that has a second current collector, and a separator interposed between the first electrode and second electrode; a non-aqueous electrolyte; and a battery case that houses the electrode group and the non-aqueous electrolyte. The first electrode and second electrode are wound with the separator interposed therebetween, and the outermost circumference of the first electrode is disposed further outward than the outermost circumference of the second electrode. The end of the finished winding of the first electrode is the end of a surplus portion that is wound onto the outer surface of the first electrode and further inward than the first electrode without the second electrode being therebetween. The length L1 in the circumferential direction of the surplus portion is 90% or more of the length L in the circumferential direction of the first electrode at the outermost circumference. The surplus portion has a functional layer provided on the surface of the first current collector.
