Abstract:
Provided is a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which liquid permeability is improved and electrode plate deformation is suppressed. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to one aspect of the present disclosure comprises an electrode body formed by winding a positive electrode and a negative electrode such that a separator is interposed therebetween; an electrolytic solution; and an outer can for accommodating the electrode body and the electrolytic solution. The separator has a base material layer and a filler layer formed at least on one surface of the base material layer. The filler layer contains inorganic particles and resin particles having a larger average particle diameter than the inorganic particles, and has protruding parts formed from the resin particles. The protruding parts protrude from the inorganic particle layer that is formed of the inorganic particle layer excluding the protruding parts of the filler layer. When the surface of the filler layer is observed by a scanning electron microscope, 10-35 resin particles forming the protruding parts are detected in a range of 100 μm ×100 μm.
