Abstract:
Disclosed is a non-consumable electrode type arc welding apparatus, which does not generate high frequency noise upon arc start, eliminates a start failure, and is capable of reducing consumption of the electrode tip. The non-consumable electrode type arc welding apparatus is provided with: a torch (1) provided with an electrode section and a nozzle (1b); gas supply means (8, 9) which supply a shield gas flowing in a gap between the electrode section and the nozzle (1b) to the torch (1); a first power supply (7), which applies a voltage to between the electrode section and the nozzle (1b) and generates a pilot arc (14); a second power supply (6), which applies a voltage to between the electrode and a work and generates a main arc; and a control unit (5) which controls the first power supply (7) and the second power supply (6). The electrode section is provided with the electrode (1a), and an electrode holding section (13) which holds the base portion of the electrode. The electrode holding section (13) is provided with, on the nozzle (1b) side, a protruding portion (13a) which protrudes toward the nozzle (1b), and the protruding portion (13a) and the nozzle (1b) are brought into contact with and separated from each other.
