Abstract:
The present invention improves charging efficiency in a non-contact power-transmitting device. A non-contact power-transmitting device 100 transmits power in a non-contact manner by magnetic coupling to an appliance to be charged, disposed in the vicinity of a charging pad. The non-contact power-transmitting device 100 includes: an amplifier which performs power amplification; a serial resonant circuit formed from a resonant capacitor 121 and a power transmitting coil 123; and a foreign body detecting unit which detects appliances not to be charged that are disposed in the vicinity of the charging pad but are not to be charged. The foreign body detecting unit comprises a pickup coil 124, band-pass filters 136 to 138, wave detecting circuits 133 to 135, and a control circuit 132. The foreign body detecting unit detects an IC card 127, which is an appliance not to be charged, by means of a signal component that is emitted during power transmission from an appliance disposed in the vicinity of the charging pad as a result of magnetic coupling with the power transmission coil 123.
