Title:
NON-ELECTRIC POWER DESALINATION METHOD USING CAPILLARY ION CONCENTRATION POLARIZATION PHENOMENON AND NON-ELECTRIC POWER DESALINATION STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/155298
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a non-electric power desalination method using a capillary ion concentration polarization phenomenon and a non-electric power desalination structure. A non-electric power desalination method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) contacting a porous structure (20) having a selective permeability with respect to ions with a desalination target fluid (12); and (b) causing capillary ion concentration polarization (CICP) by imbibing ions having selective permeability of the desalination target fluid (12) into the porous structure (20), wherein the force for imbibing the ions having a selective permeability into the porous structure (20) is due to a capillary force of a capillary contained in the porous structure (20).
