This non-ionic surfactant is characterized by comprising a structure represented by general formula (1). (In general formula (1), X is a residue obtained by removing the hydroxyl groups from a polyol having three or more hydroxyl groups, a is an integer of 3 or higher, R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R2 and R3 are hydrocarbon groups which may contain an ether bond, R2 and R3 may form a ring, AO are oxyalkylene groups which may be identical or different, n represents the average number of moles of an added oxyalkylene group, the total number of moles of the added oxyalkylene group is 1-1,000, and n≥0.)
