Description:

NON-RETURN VALVE FOR A FUEL TANK

Technical Field Of The Invention The following descriptive report of the present application refers to the development of a security and retention seal valve, it has been projected to prevent the leaking of fuel on vehicles and machines, automatically closing it from the contact of the same by actuation of a sphere that executes the sealing, stopping the leaking that can be the responsible for accidents. State Of The Art

Valves and securities systems applied on tanks and nozzles of fuel supply are known and applied in vehicles, trucks, tanks, stationary tanks, gas supply stations and liquid fuels, etc. Searching the state of art concerning the technical field of the invention, we founded many patent documents that are related to this matter.

The patent BRMU 8.600.737, of Quested, R., shows the existence of a valve that has a valve body with an engaged recess by a threaded mobile plug, a control element of the valve in the shape of a sphere is displayed in the salient end of the plug, so that its upper surface projects itself inside the valve chamber, according to a predetermined amount in its usage with a vehicle fuel system, the valve will have its output connector connected to the vehicle motor and its entry connected to the fuel tank. In the fulfillment of the fuel tank, the sphere is incapable to stop the fuel flow, such as compressed natural gas. In case of a brake in a fuel line, the excessive flow of the fuel coming from the fuel tank through the entry had created a fluid flow turbulence inside

the chamber, which is intensified by the presence of a projection that extends itself inside the chamber. The degree of a sphere exposition inside the chamber is enough under this predetermined rate of excessive fluid flow to the turbulence raise the sphere and display it against the sphere center to stop or limit the continuance of the fuel flow.

Another valve for the fuel tank is disclosed by MU 7.301.797 of Silva, D., that shows us a single cylindrical main body, provided by peripherals perimeter, with access to the fixation elements; due to the sphere sealing be accomplished by a Teflon disc with curved central cavity, provided with an external flap, of settling on the main body center, being the closing accomplished by a flange, as a disc provided with openings to the fixation elements, of a conic-trunk central opening and a superficial external rebound; by the sealing of the sphere lever, between the traction element on the sphere key and an internal center of the main body, and between the lever and an external center of the main body, by a Teflon ring mediation, and by a metal disc; due to the fact that the lever locking, in the position to lock, is accomplished by a padlock fixing a catch to the prolongation on "I" of the indicative lever of the close position.

Efficient in the fuel sealing is the BRMU 8.300.285 of Scharzenbeck, comprised by: a body resembling a cover that can be applied into a gallon; a tubular body settled and capable to slide on the body, internally subdivided on the liquid circulation conduit and air circulation conduit; a ring settling displayed next to the free end of the tubular body; an adjacent flange to the settle; an extreme axial opening of the conduit; an obturator located a little above the opening of the entry and that

works against the body center resembling a cover; an output of a radial air forecasted next to the free end of the conduit; a sphere of the output command of radial air and by a spring placed between the flange and the free edge of the body and that, in the rest extended position, disposes the tubular body in the position more projected to outside the body resembling the cover and the obturator in the position that closes the center.

The BRPI 9.304.069 of Deininger, G. is also known, comprising basically a piston in a shape of a basket with the low base of walls inclined and a high base, provided with a central conic projection of sealing of a central hole ream provided in an internal cover of sealing, of a plastic body or material non- susceptible to the chemical attack of the fuel (alcohol or gasoline), inside this body moving axially the cited piston, this latter provided with a metal sphere with specific mass (weight); on said internal cover of sealing is displayed a pressing regulatory cover with a retainer diaphragm on which is provided a high cover that closes said body, between this latter and the pressing regulatory cover being foreseen peripherally a sealing O-ring type, this high cover fixing itself by a mechanic locking, ultrasound weld, mirror weld or others.

Problems Of The State Of The Art. The systems of fuel sealing applied on mobile and stable tanks, cars and other vehicles are very complex, with many associate devices. Although all cited documents apply the sealing by a sphere acting, theses means are much more complex, involving mechanics elements connected to the sphere. Scharzenbeck foresees a sealing by a sphere that goes up and down in a cylindrical element, and is subdivided internally in a

conduit for liquid circulation and conduit for air circulation, besides using a spring. In the proposed system, the occlusion of the access channel of the fuel does not occur. This patent leaves a free channel to the air passage. Proposed Solution

Therefore, due the pertinent considerations to the state of the art previously discussed, the development of a security and retention seal valve is one of the goals of the present invention application, with the following characteristics: It has an adaptor body formed in parts by many flexible rings that accommodates in the local of the installation (nozzle of the fuel tank) absorbing variations of measures and fixing itself. Its shape allows not coming back, once it is inserted. Its lower part has a shape of a cage with the goal of lodge a flowing sphere in order to do the sealing, because said sphere goes up by the cage until it finds the sealing base, thus executing its function;

It also prevents that a hose is inserted in the tank inhibiting the stealing of fuel;

In a normal situation, it remains in the lower part of the cage, allowing the normal flow in the time of fill up and also for the tank, leaving the air comes in and out freely.

Description Of The Drawings The characterization of the present document for the invention patent proposed herein is made by means of representative drawings of security and retention seal valve, in such a way that the product may be integrally reproduced by a suitable technique, allowing the full characterization for the functionality of

the pleaded object.

From the elaborated drawings, that express the best way or preferred shape for accomplishing the product herein idealized, the descriptive part of the report is justified through a detailed and consecutive numeration, where it clarifies aspects that may be implicit by the adopted representation, in order to clearly determine the protection pleaded herein.

These drawings are merely illustrative, may present variations, provided that do not change the initially pleaded. In this case, it has that:

The Figure 1 illustrates a representation in perspective of the proposed valve, showing its components inserted;

The Figure 2 shows an exploded perspective of the valve, from where we can see the adaptor body shaped by the accommodation rings, the sealing center and it respective sphere and cage;

The Figure 3 shows a perspective cut, from where we can see the sphere in the sealing center; and - The Figure 4 shows a cut drawing of the proposed valve, showing it mounted to the visualization of the parts, specially the sealing ring of the adaptor body.

Detailed Description Of The Preferred Way For The Invention Accomplishment The proposed invention comprises an adaptor body (1 ) formed by a number of flexible rings (2), being said body (1) opened and plain in the upper part (3) of the fulfillment nozzle insertion and, in the lower part, with a set of teeth (4) displayed in a circle disposition, capable to be inserted in a cage (5)

that is settled in such adaptor (1 ), where said cage is presented with multiple side openings (6) displayed around it, creating a cylindrical shape with longitudinal cracks, yet said cage being closed in its low part by a calotte (7) that presents a central hole (8), and counting on a cylindrical element of sealing (9), where a sphere (10) stuck to the cage (5) is settled in a suitable circle element (11), making the liquid sealing that goes up by the valve.

The sealing cylinder (9) presents the lower wall (12) with the same shape and dimension of the spherical area that is settled on it, in order to allow the perfect accommodation of the ball (10) in this part.

The multiple side openings (6) of the cage (5) correspond to the number of teeth (4) existent in the adaptor body, in a way that the cage stays perfectly settled on it, holding each tooth in its respective crack.
