Abstract:
In recent years, steroidal preparations for external use, which induce the problem of side effects when used over a long time, have been avoided by patients. Thus, it is hard for doctors to prescribe such preparations, which makes it difficult to treat chronic eczema.
To solve this problem, provided is a preparation for external use which comprises a polysaccharide derived from Aphanothece sacrum having a potent moisture retaining effect and silver ion water having antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory actions. Due to this composition, the preparation for external use exhibits therapeutic effects on eczema (an antipruritic effect, anti-inflammatory effect, cell proliferation-inhibiting effect, etc.) comparable to steroidal preparations for external use as well as an antimicrobial effect.
