Abstract:
Disclosed is a non-volatile storage device with improved write operation stability and reliability. The non-volatile storage device comprises a variable resistance element (106) and a write circuit (101) that writes data to the variable resistance element (106). The variable resistance element (106) has a characteristic of changing from a first resistance state (LR state or HR state) to a second resistance state (HR state or LR state) when a first voltage (Vh or V1) pulse is applied and changing from the second resistance state to the first resistance state when a second voltage (V1 or Vh) pulse with a different polarity to the first voltage is applied. When the variable resistance element (106) is changed from the first resistance state to the second resistance state, the write circuit (101) applies to the variable resistance element (106) at least, in the following order, the first voltage (Vh or V1) pulse, a third resistance voltage (V1 Low or Vh Low) pulse with a smaller voltage absolute value than the second voltage and with the same polarity as the second voltage, and the first voltage (Vh or V1) pulse.
