Abstract:
A non-volatile storage device containing a laminate and a control unit is provided. The laminate comprises a first ferromagnetic layer that has a fixed direction of magnetization, a second ferromagnetic layer, and a first non-magnetic layer provided between the first and second ferromagnetic layers. The second ferromagnetic layer has a first section that is laminated to the first ferromagnetic layer and has a variable direction of magnetization and a second section that is laminated to the first section and has a variable direction of magnetization. The magnetic-resonance frequency of the first section is different from that of the second section. The control unit is electrically connected to the laminate and sends a pulse current therethrough during a first period, said pulse current having a magnitude equal to a first value. The directions of magnetization of the first and second sections face directions corresponding to the orientation of the pulse current. The length of the first period is 0.9 to 1.1 times the absolute value of an odd multiple of the reciprocal of the magnetic-resonance frequency of the second ferromagnetic layer as a whole.
